Respect, teamwork, perseverance and an all-around positive attitude are some of the values that we instill in each class. Respect everyone inside the gym. We may have different backgrounds and attributes, but our passion for Muay Thai brings us all together.

Our differences will all work out as long as we respect one another. You will also feel that you belong in a team with all the encouragement that you will get from your fellow nakmuays. Sometimes you may find yourself competing with them on their cardio or skill, and it’s all good: a little friendly competition actually helps in improving one’s performance. Classes can also be very physically demanding most of the time, and one of the ways to endure them is to simply enjoy them. You gotta have fun or you’ll just end up gassing out on each drill. You get extra energy on what you’re doing because you feel good. Smile and spread the positivity.

ON SELF-DEFENSE:

We focus on teaching Muay Thai mainly as a sport, and what we impart are the things that you will need to win inside the ring. If you can walk away from a fight, just do it. Prevention is better than cure, although you can always use what you will learn in Muay Thai for self-defense if you will ever find your back against the wall.

ON LOSING WEIGHT:

Muay Thai, or any other sport/physical activity, will help you lose a few pounds, but you’ll get better results if you’ll cut down on food intake. I am not saying you should starve yourself to death but you have to set limits on what you eat. Just eat healthier foods and avoid junk.

With every punch that you make while Kickboxing, your body is FORCED to work extra hard to fight AND burn fat during the workout – and the afterburn effects are insane…
